| Samurai action anime series. 'Mutsu Enmeiryuu' in the title is a school of swordmasters in the manga 'Shura no Mon' by Masatoshi Kawahara. This anime series tells the stories of the swordmasters of 'Mutsu Enmeiryuu'. The series is consists of 3 chapters (9 volumes): 'Miyamoto Musashi Hen' (Ep.1-7), 'Kan'ei Gozen Shiai Hen' (Ep. 8-14), and 'Fuuun Bakumatsu Hen' (Ep. 15-26). This volume includes Episodes 15-17, the start of the 3rd chapter. The story is set in 'Bakumatsu' (the last period of Tokugawa Shogunate, late 18th century). It's shortly after the visit of U.S. Navy fleet which came to 'open' Japan. Mutsu Izumi meets a unique samurai named Sakamoto Ryouma. Izumi is impressed by Ryouma not only because of his sword skill, but his broad outlook. They become friends. However, the political turmoil splits their ways. |
