|
| Director Yasushi Nagaoka's sci-fi mecha anime series GODANNAR breaks new ground in the genre by centering the giant-robot action on a hilariously at-odds married couple. When handsome mecha pilot, Goh, saved the life of pink-haired high school student, Anna, little did he suspect that the two would fall in love and get married. Five years later, the newlyweds' domestic bliss is tested by Anna's desire to become her husband's copilot in a war against an alien race bent on world domination. Complicating Goh's reluctance is the reappearance of his ex-girlfriend and former combat partner, Mira, as well as the machinations of Anna's rival, Shiziru, and the temptations of various scantily clad high school girls, ensuring a dizzying soap-opera atmosphere marked by sexually provocative comedy and intense giant-robot battle sequences. Playfully titillating and vibrantly animated, the action-packed anime kicks off with this first volume of episodes. |
