| 'Year of the Horse' is an up close and personal look into the band that has been captivating the world for over three decades--Neil Young and Crazy Horse. From the tragic loss of band member Danny Whitten to the camaraderie born out of years on the road, director Jim Jarmusch uses non-linear interviews and mixes footage from 1976 and 1986 with all-access footage from the band's 1996 tour. Filmed in 16mm and Super 8, the raw beauty of the film stocks exposes the incredible quality of the band's music, as well as the chemistry among the four men. The concert footage is intense and the interviews and behind the scenes unveil the funny, edgy and emotional side of the band. |
