| PLOT SYNOPSIS for Daughter of Iguana, The: DVD-Box |
|
| Japanese title is 'Iguana no Musume'. TV series based on the manga by Moto Hagio. Yuriko Aoshima bears her first child, Rika. But Rika looks 'Iguana' to Yuriko's eys. Yuriko cannot love Rika. Yuriko suffers so much that almost tries to kill herself along with her child. 2 years later, however, she bears another child Mayumi. This time, the child looks perfectly lovely to the mother's eyes. So, all her love and care goes to the 2nd daughter. One day Rika knows her mother calls her 'Iguana'. Soon, Rika sees herself as iguana in the mirror. When Yuriko does not accept present from Rika on her birthday, Rika comitted suicide, but fails. She survives for the next 9 years, yet, she becomes a totally self-contained girl. She cannot accept herslef as she is. She secretly loves a boy named Noboru, but there's a girl named Kaori who is always at his side, and does not hide her hatred for Rika. Even Rika's sister Mayumi tries to seduce Noboru, only to prove her superiority to her elder sister. 'Iguana can never be happy.' Rika speaks to herself... Includes complete 11 episodes. |
