|
| Based on the manga 'Captain Tsubasa' by Youichi Takahashi. This is the new TV series version started in 2001. It's been widely considered that 'Captain Tsubasa' prepared the basis of the popularity of soccer in Japan as seen today. Many professional players admit that, in their childhood, the original manga and/or TV anime let them determine to play soccer. Episodes 1-3. - Ep.1: Tsubasa Oozora, a Japanese professional soccer player who has established the 'superstar' status in Brazil, has decided to challenge the European leagues. He looks back his childhood, when he starts playing soccer... Shortly after the transfer to Nankatsu elementary school, Tsubasa participated the game with Shuutetsu elementary school, led by talented goal keeper Wakabayashi. Ep.2: Robelto Hongou was forced to give up his career as a scooer player because of his eyesight problem. He comes to Japan visiting his friend, Tsubasa's father. Tsubasa and other boys in the team ask him to train them. Ep.3: A boy named Tarou Misaki returns to join the team of Nankatsu. |
