| [BS-i Master Director Series][Obayashi Nobuhiko DVD Collection] Originally one of the episodes aired as BS-i TV show shot w/ Digital H-Vision. The title means 'Farewell'. Based on the short story 'Choukyori Denwa'('Long-distance call') by Jirou Akagawa. - Yuuichi Kosaka is a middle-aged working man who is tired of his life. His superior is hard on him, because Yuuichi doesn't bring the good result these days. Working hard until late in night, he tends to lose contact with his family. One day, he has to go to a village for the business. The village is where he was born. He must know the route well, yet somehow he is lost. He comes across an old telephone booth. He finds his old firend Futoshi's name in the phone book. When he calls the number, he hears Futoshi's voice, sounds so young, just like 30 years ago. But when Yuuichi visits Futoshi's house the next day, he is told that Futoshi comitted suicide some time ago. It makes Yuuichi to look back their high school days. Futoshi kindly gave an advice to Yuuichi on his first date with Miyuki, his classmate. |
