| Based on the manga 'Genma Taisen: Shinwa Zen'ya no Shou' (1980) by Shoutarou Ishinomori. After collaborating on the original 'Genma Taisen' (1967) and 'Shin Genma Taisen' (1971), writer Kazumasa Hirai and manga artist Shoutarou Ishinomori agreed that they should pursue the different courses about the material. 'Shinwa Zen'ya no Shou' (roughly means 'The chapter of the age before the myths') was Ishinomori's solo work after the agreement. (On the other hand, Hirai wrote enormous volumes of novels, early part of which was made into the anime movie 'Genma Taisen' aka 'Harmagedon' (1982) by Rintarou.) - Ep.1: Earth, in the distant future. The world is filled with monsters. King Ma, the commander of Genma who rules the world wants a female human who can bear a child with strong 'force'. Non, a human girl gives herself to King Ma to save her village. She bears twin children, Jin and Loof. Despite her sacrifice, the villagers hate her as the woman who sold herself to the devil. Nue used to belong to the clan of Ma, but King Ma changed him into the form of a wolf because of disobedience. When Non beggs him not to take her children away, he leaves Jin to her. Jin is to be raised by his mother. Loof is to be raised by King Ma as his prince. |
