|
| A fairy 'Tail' from Hakodate, Hokkaido. - Hikaru is an ordinary high school student except she has a tail. It appeared one morning and changed her life completely! While she canceles her first date with Hayato, her best friend Chiho approaches him. Hikaru's sister and a would-be fashion designer, Michiru, makes an imitation tale not to make Hikaru alone. But a gossip paper Hakodate Scoop's reporter Hayakawa takes a 'tale shot' of them. Facing a crisis of discontinuance,Hakodate Scoop makes 'tail-beauties' a scoop and sets a prize on their tails. Another tail-man, Furuta, is also at a loss. His daughter Mayu innocently enjoys his tail, but he worries if she tells her nurcery school teacher Fumiko about it. Furuta, a single father, likes Fumiko. Meanwhile,at Nagao (long-tail) Pharmaceutical's board room,serious discussion is continued. Seems it has something to do with the tail. Hayato screams at Hikaru's tail and Hikaru's parents fight over what to do with the tail. Hikaru despairs of her life but she overhears her family is trying hard to accept the reality because 'Whether with or without a tail,Hikaru is Hikaru.' Hikaru gets courage to come out as a tail-girl on TV show and says 'Having a tail is like adding another charm on me... such as Hikaru changes to Pikaru.' So, Hakodate citizen with tail come to be called Pakodate. News reporters chases Hikaru, Michiru's tail fashion becomes a big hit, and tourists crowd to 'Pakodate' city. 'Pikaru' is now a star and getting even estranged from Hayato. Furuta is proud of Hikaru as the likes but he can't dare to confess his tail. Fumiko misunderstands Furuta has shady secret. In spite of record sales,Hakodate Scoop is seeking for the next bomb. One day an unbelievable fact about Pakodate is revieled and Hikaru is suddenly driven to the corner. What will happen to Hikaru? Can her family save her? And is there anything Hayato can do for her...? |
