| PLOT SYNOPSIS for Tokugawa no Jotei: Oh-oku |
 |
| The Oh-oku (aka Ooku or Oooku, literally 'grand depth') is the ladies quarters in Edo Castle, often described as the shogun's harems, where thousands of ladies lived. The Ooku had its own administration. This is the story of Lady Miyo, who was thrown into the Oooku when she was very young, and survived the political wars and the conspiracies. |
