| PLOT SYNOPSIS for Lupin the Third: Lupin vs Clone (The Mystery of Mamo) |

| aka 'Lupin III' or 'Lupin The 3rd', based on the comics by Monkey Punch. The 1st installlment of the theatrical version. Simply titled 'Lupin Sansei' (Lupin III) upon its original theatrical release, the episode title 'Lupin vs Clone' was later added for the video release, since subsequent movies had been made by then. This installment is aka 'Secret of Mamo'. Although it featured the voice cast of the 2nd TV series, many key creators of the original series reunited for this 1st (animated) theatrical feature of 'Lupin III'. - It was reported Lupin III was arrested and executed, but Inspector Zenigata didn't believe it. He finds Lupin III is very much alive... but Lupin III himself tells his partner Jigen that the executed one appeared to be real Lupn III. They suspect somebody, somehow, might have cloned him. The investigation leads them to Mamoo, a mysterious figure who had repeatedly cloned himself for 10,000 years... |
