| PLOT SYNOPSIS for Kibakichi: Special Collector's Edition |
|
| Complete Japanese title is 'Bakko Youkaiden: Kibakichi'. Sci-Fi action movie set in Tokugawa Shogunate era. - In the ancient years, Youkai (supernatural being, somewhere between monsters and fairies) and humans lived together in peace. But later humans tried to eliminate Youkai because of their ugly appearances... Now it's 1855. A ronin comes to a post town from where 'nobody ever returned', a farmer warned to him. His name is Kibakichi. He is one of Youkai, specifically, a Jin-Roh (literally 'human-wolf', but different from European werewolf). He plays in a gambling place run by Onikichi. Onikichi tries to recruit him for his plan. Kibakichi chooses to stay there for a while before decision. He sees Onikichi's group ties well like a true family. They are also Youkai. They have made a deal with the lord of the fief. Youkai do the dirty jobs to eliminate the 'troublemakers' in the fief, in return, the lord promised the land where they can live in peace forever. When Onikichi tells this, Kibakichi replies 'Humans never keep promise with Youkai.' Kibakichi has the dark past. His trust to humans resulted the destruction of his home village. And eventually, the lord is going to reveal his true purpose... |
