| 'The world is not beautiful. That's why it's beautiful.' - 'Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World' (complete Japanese title) is a series of short stories based on the book by Keiichi Shiguresawa. It tells the journey of Kino (a human) and Hermes (a bicycle who speaks human language). Kino and Hermes visit various countries, stay there for 3 days. They are perfect bystanders. 2 episodes. Ep.4 'Otona no Kuni' (The land of adults) - In this land, age 12 means adult. Adults must do things they don't like, and things they think wrong. So they do a surgery to take out children from their heads when they become 12 years old... Ep.5 'Reeru no Ue no San-nin no Otoko' (3 men on the railroad) - When Kino and Hermes run on the railway, they see an old man who takes care of railroad. He tells them he's being doing it for 50 years. They begin to talk about 'the land where you don't have to work'... |
